Greetings in the lovely and matchless name of Jesus Christ.
Our topic on Sunday was having and cultivating a “thankful heart” and living in that place day by day. There was a song that we sang and some of the lyrics were ” A thankful heart prepares the way for you My God.” My desire is to have a thankful heart no matter what my circumstances are and even though it’s sometimes a struggle, that is my goal. I want the way prepared into my heart for His presence to be full and overflowing to others around me.
Kathy and I were at Silver Dollar City this past week and we attended the Charles Dickens play entitled “A Christmas Carol”. It’s the story of Ebenezer Scrooge and his transformation from a miserly, miserable and contemptible person, that no one liked, into a grateful, thankful and generous person that everyone liked. Really this is the story for everyone of us on our journey of transformation in Jesus Christ as we surrender our lives to Him. What a wonderful story God is writing in you and I.
This weeks MMV comes again from the Book of Psalms:
Psalm 145:10 (NASB)
10 All Your works shall give thanks to You, O Lord,
And Your godly ones shall bless You.
It appears that David was truly a cultivator of a thankful heart. Many times throughout the psalms he speaks of thanksgiving and a thankful heart and in 1 Chronicles 16:8-36 David writes his “Psalm of Thanksgiving” as He brings the Ark of God to the place he made for it to dwell in a simple “Tent”.
David rejoiced and danced as the Ark was being brought to this “Tent” and all the people sang and played their instruments and were rejoicing along with David. Get the picture?
So READ IT – WRITE IT – SAY IT – SING IT – PRAY IT and as you do ask the Lord to cultivate in you a “thankful heart”.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING Everyone,
Michael & Kathy
